Welcome to the
Close To My Heart
September Stamp of the Month
Blog Hop
you are on the right path. If this is your first blog hop,
start here with the work that I have shared
and then look at the end of my post for your
next stop on the Blog Hop.
This HOP is going to be even more exciting than usual!
Why? In addition to great ideas on how to use
the beautiful stamp set, Paper Garden,
you will see lots of new products released TODAY in the new 2015 - 2016
Annual Inspirations Idea Book.
I spent a whole day playing and experimenting with our new watercolors
and this stamp set. My pre-teen granddaughter, Jadyn,
was here from out of town and working with me,
so that made the day even more fun!
First I will share some of the cards I made.
Here I used a wash technique wetting the watercolor paper with water
before applying a mixture of blues and greens. I then stamped with
black Momento ink once the paper was dry. The card is mounted on
Sapphire paper and embellished with the new Teal shimmer trim.
The next card also uses the same technique.
For this color resist card I stamped the image with Versa Mark,
heat embossed the image with Clear embossing powder,
and then washed over the embossed images with pinks and oranges.
On the next two cards I applied paint to my acrylic block, stamped using
the color on the block on watercolor paper. The flowers were then stamped
using Momento black ink.
There was a different result using a different type of
watercolor paper rather than our new Watercolor paper.
Finally, I tried stamping using watercolors on my stamps rather than ink.
I liked the effect -- definitely different than stamping with ink.
One thing I learned is that you need to clean your stamp right
away using a brush scrubber and some soapy water.

The edges of the mats were stippled with a mixture of various watercolor
blues and greens. The background was achieved by using watercolors
on my stamps rather than ink. The black images were stamped with Momento ink.
Hope you will enjoy the new CTMH watercolors and
this stamp set as much as I do.
